1.2kW 12.8V Hybrid Off Grid Solar Inverter With 1000W MPPT 2.4kVA Surge
1.2kW 12.8V Off-Grid Solar Inverter with 1000W MPPT and 2.4kVA Surge
Compact Off-Grid Inverter for Small Solar Power Systems
This 1.2kW 12.8V off-grid solar inverter combines pure sine wave AC output, MPPT solar charging, utility charging and battery management in a compact single-phase power platform.
The inverter provides 1.2kW of continuous output and 2.4kVA of short-duration surge power. It can be considered for lighting, televisions, routers, computers, fans, small refrigerators and other compatible household or office loads after their continuous and startup requirements have been checked.
The 12.8V battery platform supports lithium and lead-acid batteries. Its built-in MPPT charger accepts up to 1000W of photovoltaic input, making the unit suitable for small off-grid homes, cabins, kiosks, security systems and basic backup applications.
Solar Charging and Backup Operating Modes
Daytime Solar Supply
Photovoltaic energy can support compatible loads while the MPPT charger directs available energy to the connected battery.
Battery Backup Operation
Stored energy can supply selected AC loads when solar production decreases or the utility source is unavailable.
Utility-Assisted Charging
The AC charger can recharge the battery when photovoltaic production is insufficient or faster energy recovery is required.
Automatic Source Transfer
A 10ms transfer response supports compatible loads when the operating source changes between utility and battery power.
PV String and Load Planning
The MPPT operating range is 18–100Vdc, while the maximum photovoltaic open-circuit voltage is 125Vdc. The complete solar string must remain within both limits, including the expected increase in open-circuit voltage during colder weather.
Maximum photovoltaic input is 1000W with a listed input-current limit of 14A. Panel quantity and string arrangement should be selected according to module voltage, current, temperature coefficient and local sunlight conditions.
The 2.4kVA surge value does not represent continuous output. Appliances with motors or compressors must be checked for startup demand, while the combined continuous load should remain within the 1.2kW output rating.
Battery capacity determines expected backup duration and must be selected separately from inverter power. Higher active loads will discharge the battery more quickly.

1.2kW Off-Grid Solar Inverter FAQ
Is 1000W the maximum photovoltaic input power?
Yes. The listed maximum photovoltaic input is 1000W, subject to the 14A input-current limit and the specified MPPT and open-circuit-voltage limits.
Does 2.4kVA mean the inverter can continuously supply 2.4kW?
No. Continuous output is 1.2kW. The 2.4kVA rating represents short-duration surge capacity for compatible starting loads.
Can solar and utility power both charge the battery?
The inverter includes photovoltaic and AC charging, with a listed combined maximum charge current of 120A.
Can it operate a refrigerator or small water pump?
Compatible equipment may be supported when its continuous power and startup demand remain within the inverter and surge limits.
Where should the inverter be installed?
The IP21 inverter should be installed in a dry, protected and ventilated area with adequate cable access and maintenance clearance.
