Product Description

12.8V 280Ah Lithium Battery with 200A Continuous and 300A Pulse Output

Read the Current Ratings in the Correct Order

This 12.8V 280Ah lithium battery provides 3.584kWh of nominal LiFePO4 energy. Its current specification is divided into three separate limits: 100A continuous charging, 200A continuous discharge and 300A pulse discharge for one second.

These values serve different purposes and should not be combined. The 300A pulse rating does not mean the battery can support a 300A load continuously.

Continuous Load Design

Continuous cables, M8 terminals, fuses and disconnect devices should be selected according to the expected operating current, with the 200A battery limit treated as the maximum continuous boundary.

At 12.8V, a high-power inverter may draw substantial current. The inverter’s battery-side requirement should be checked at the lowest expected operating voltage rather than only at nominal voltage.

Temporary Startup Demand

Some pumps, compressors and motors draw a higher current during startup. The one-second 300A pulse specification may provide temporary headroom for a compatible brief event, but the inverter surge rating and cable system must also support the load.

Do Not Use Pulse Current as Cable Rating

Cable sizing should be based on continuous current and installation conditions, not only the one-second figure.

Charging Strategy for a 280Ah Battery

The maximum continuous charging current is 100A. Lower settings may be used when the solar array, charger or generator cannot supply the maximum value or when a slower charging strategy is preferred.

The battery operates within 10.0–14.6Vdc and uses a listed 14.0V floating-charge voltage. The charging equipment should be checked against these values.

Protection Boundaries

The BMS includes overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, short-circuit and overtemperature protection. These protection functions help prevent operation outside the documented battery limits.

Correct inverter settings and external protection remain necessary. Frequent protective shutdowns indicate that the system configuration or load should be reviewed.

High-Current 280Ah Battery FAQ

Can it discharge at 300A for several minutes?

No. The 300A rating is limited to one second.

Can a 3000W inverter be connected?

Compatibility depends on the inverter’s actual DC current, efficiency, surge demand and minimum battery voltage.

Is a 100A charger required?

No. A lower compatible charging current may be used.

Does IP65 allow immersion?

No. The battery must not be immersed, and terminal connections still require protection.

What should be checked for a motor load?

Check startup current, startup duration, inverter surge capability and the battery’s one-second pulse limit.
