Hybrid Solar Inverter for Residential Energy Management

This 5kW 48V hybrid solar inverter combines photovoltaic generation, battery storage, grid-connected self-consumption and a dedicated backup output in one wall-mounted energy platform.

The inverter provides 5kW of on-grid AC output and a separate 5kW backup output at 230Vac. It is suitable for residential properties, home offices and light-commercial sites that need to manage solar energy while keeping selected circuits available during a utility interruption.

A maximum photovoltaic input of 7.5kW provides additional solar-array capacity for daytime consumption and battery charging. Two independent MPPT trackers make the inverter practical for roofs with separate panel groups or different installation orientations.

Dual MPPT Solar and Backup Advantages

7.5kW Photovoltaic Input

The solar charger accepts up to 7.5kW of photovoltaic input when the complete array remains within the specified voltage, current and power limits.

Two Independent MPPT Trackers

Each MPPT accepts one suitable solar string, helping installers manage panels located on different roof sections or facing different directions.

Dedicated 5kW Backup Output

Priority circuits such as lighting, refrigeration, routers, security equipment and selected office devices can be assigned to the backup connection.

IP66 Enclosure Protection

The enclosure supports protected outdoor installation when the required mounting position, cable sealing, clearances and ventilation instructions are followed.

PV String and Backup Circuit Planning

The photovoltaic startup voltage is 90Vdc, and the normal MPPT operating range is 80–520Vdc. For full-power operation, the listed MPPT range for this 5kW version is 197–500Vdc.

Maximum PV open-circuit voltage is 550Vdc. Each MPPT supports up to 19A of input current, with a listed short-circuit-current limit of 25A per tracker.

Solar string design should consider module operating voltage, open-circuit voltage, current and temperature coefficient. Cold-weather open-circuit voltage must remain below the inverter limit.

The backup output should be connected to planned priority circuits rather than every appliance in the property. Combined continuous demand should remain within 5kW, while motor-driven equipment should be checked for startup and overload requirements.

Battery capacity determines backup duration. Increasing the battery reserve can extend operating time, but it does not increase the inverter’s 5kW AC output rating.
